Injection of non-animal stabilised hyaluronic acid (Restylane) can restore volume to deep skin folds and wrinkles, augment lip definition and alter nasal shape. This 'lunchtime' treatment is performed under local anaesthetic and results are instant. There is a small risk of bruising, swelling and redness but these rarely last longer than 24-48 hours and are minimised with careful injection technique and cold packs. Return to normal activity including sport is within 24hours. Volume replacment lasts 6-9 months

Injection of Botulinum toxin is ideal for upper facial rejuvenation but can be used to good effect in the perioral and neck areas. The injections are painless and can correct wrinkles and folds caused by muscle movement. Careful weakening of the brow depressor muscles can lift the brow without surgery. Risks include bruising and asymmetry but are rare. Results become apparent in 5-10 days and last 3-4 months.
